A Letter from the Director – August, 2025
Dear Choir Members,
Welcome to a brand-new school year! I am so excited to begin this journey with each of you. We have an incredible year ahead filled with music, growth, and memories that you will carry with you long after high school.
Throughout the year, our choirs will have the opportunity to perform in several concerts and special events that showcase the talent, dedication, and heart of our program. In addition to choir concerts, you will also have the chance to prepare a solo or small ensemble for OMEA adjudicated events. These experiences are wonderful ways to challenge yourself musically, build confidence, and celebrate the joy of singing.
Each of our choirs will also prepare for the OMEA Large Group Event, an important experience that helps us grow as musicians and as an ensemble. For those who want an extra challenge, I encourage you to consider joining our extracurricular Men’s Chorus, another exciting way to be part of something special.
This year is made even more exciting by the support of our Choir Boosters, who have been working hard behind the scenes on fundraisers to support our program and help us lower the cost to go to New York City. Your commitment and participation in both music-making and fundraising will be the key to making these opportunities possible.
Most importantly, we want this year to be the very best it can be! That kind of excellence doesn’t happen by accident; it happens by choice. “Success doesn’t come from what you do occasionally, it comes from what you do consistently.” (Marie Forleo) Each of you has the power to shape your own experience here—your effort, your attitude, and your involvement will directly determine the joy and fulfillment you find in this program. The more you give, the more rewarding and exciting this journey will be.
