Messiah receives Arts in Stark grant

The Arts in Stark Board of Directors, at its December meeting, approved over $1,000,000 in grant requests to arts programs throughout Stark County.  Included in that number is a $2,000 Special Projects grant to the Washington High School Alumni Association for outreach/publicity/marketing for the annual production of Handel’s Messiah.

Special Projects grants go to smaller arts organizations, non-profits, and individual artists.  “These are special projects being run by organizations and individual artists that show us every day how art is changing lives all across Stark County,” says Special Projects Grants Committee Chair Vicki Conley.

Massillon’s production of Handel’s Messiah, is a long outstanding tradition of 73 years, and the choral music department is grateful to Arts in Stark for their support!
